Chiropractors can treat many different conditions and injuries related to your body.  Today we are going to talk about the top 7 common conditions treated by a chiropractor.

They can help treat conditions related to your muscles, bones, tendons, cartilage, and joints.

A chiropractor can provide safe, hands-on, and non-invasive treatment to effectively RELIEVE YOUR PAIN and help you to MOVE BETTER.

The Top 7 Common Conditions Treated by a Chiropractor.

1. Neck Pain

Number 1 on our list of the top 7 common conditions treated by a chiropractor is neck pain.

If you’re suffering from neck pain, know that you’re not alone.

It’s estimated that 1 in 3 suffer from neck pain a year.

Your neck pain may be constant. It might also come on when you’re checking your blind spot, or working at your desk for too long, or even without any known cause.

Whatever the source may be, a chiropractor can help you.

A chiropractor can assess your neck muscles and joints to determine what the source of your pain may be. Then, they’ll work together with you to create a treatment plan to reduce your pain and restore your movement.

2. Back Pain

Back pain is a common condition that affects up to 80% of adults in their lifetime.

This pain can affect your ability to do your normal day-to-day activities, like going to work or your regular chores around your house.

Your back pain could have been caused by a specific injury, or it could be something that’s chronic and has been going on for a long time.

No matter the cause, a chiropractor can treat your back pain so you can get back to doing the activities you like to do.

This treatment by a chiropractor may involve using hands-on manual therapy to safely adjust your spine in order to keep you mobile and pain-free.

3. Headaches and Migraines

Headaches and migraines can majorly disrupt your schedule for the day.

You might be surprised to hear this, but many headaches and migraines are the result of your muscles or joints in your neck not functioning properly.

Your neck muscles may be too tight which can cause pain to refer all the way up to your neck and cause a headache. It’s also possible that your neck joints are stiff which can also cause headaches.

A registered chiropractor can thoroughly assess your neck to determine if it’s contributing to your neck pain. This is one of the most common conditions treated by a chiropractor.

They can then make a diagnosis, and then determine an effective treatment plan to eliminate your neck pain.

If necessary, the chiropractor will also work together with your doctor to find you the best path to treat your neck pain as quickly as possible.

4. Jaw Pain

If you’ve been noticing pain or clicking while opening or closing your jaw, you could have an issue with your jaw joint.

Your jaw joint is known as your temporomandibular joint (TMJ).

Like any structure in your body, it can be irritated or damaged which causes it to not function properly. When it doesn’t function properly, you could get symptoms like clicking or pain.

Chiropractors can solve your TMJ dysfunction with treatments like jaw exercises, mobilization of your jaw, soft tissue massage of your neck muscles, and more.

5. Whiplash

Whiplash is an injury to your neck that commonly occurs after some sort of traumatic injury.

This injury causes your neck muscles to rapidly bend forward and backward and can lead to neck pain and loss of neck movement.

A chiropractor can evaluate your spine and the surrounding muscles to determine what parts were affected by the whiplash injury.

Once they determine the affected spinal structures, they can perform treatment on you and give you home exercises to improve your injury and reduce your discomfort.

6. Rotator Cuff or Other Shoulder Injuries

Chiropractors treat many people for the neck and back issues. But did you know that chiropractors are well-equipped to help with shoulder pain as well?

There are many different techniques that chiropractors can perform to treat your shoulder pain.

Some of these techniques include soft tissue massage or mobilizing your shoulder bones to provide you with relief and make the shoulder function better.

Depending on the root cause of your injury, the chiropractor might also adjust your neck or back if they think there’s stiffness that could be affecting your shoulder.

As we know, the whole body is connected.

The chiropractor will be sure to take a holistic approach in order to provide you with both immediate and long-lasting changes.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the cracking sound at the chiropractor?

When a chiropractor is adjusting parts of your body like your back or neck, they’re creating more space between your bones to help it move better.
There’s fluid that lubricates and surrounds your bones to help it move better.
The cracking or popping noise you may hear is the result of air bubbles in the fluid popping after your joint is stretched.

Are chiropractic adjustments safe?

Chiropractors are highly trained and skilled professionals in adjusting your bones and treating different joint and muscular conditions.
These adjustments are safe and can help you avoid other sorts of treatment for your pain like drugs and surgery.
Typically, people feel immediate relief after these adjustments. It’s also possible that you may feel very mild discomfort after like when you perform exercise.
However, any feelings of discomfort after chiropractic treatment should be gone after 24 hours.
