In-Home Physiotherapy

"I have received excellent physiotherapy services"

I have received excellent physiotherapy services from Sara, who has been my physiotherapist for the past 2 years or so. Recently, I tried ZOOM physiotherapy, which has also worked quite well for a shoulder injury.

- Karyn S.

"I highly recommend this clinic"

My daughter was a competitive dancer in the GTA and had a serious injury. When the pandemic started, they quickly moved to virtual appointments to keep everyone safe but kept giving the same professional, friendly and quality care she needed. I highly recommend this clinic, Sarah and Dr Kraft.

- Veronique M.

"This is a huge life changing benefit to me."

After years of increasing knee pain and a trip to the doctor, I was diagnosed with Osteoarthritis. Over 18 months of patient instruction (including many virtual appointments during the pandemic) I can once more enjoy running and skiing and I am pain-free for the majority of the time.

- Toby R.

What is In-Home Physiotherapy?

In Home-Physiotherapy, also known as physiotherapy at home, is physiotherapy within the comfort of your own home, performed by a trained and licensed physiotherapist.

Just as the case for physiotherapy performed in the clinic, you can utilize our at-home physiotherapy services for conditions like back pain, imbalance, and much more.

During your initial evaluation, your physiotherapist will take a detailed history, perform tests and measures, and then discuss the diagnosis and a treatment plan with you.

Your follow-up visits can take place in your home and can easily be transitioned into our clinic when you are ready.

Our in-home physiotherapists also work with and see patients in our clinic on a regular basis so if you are looking to transition your care into the clinic, we can accommodate this request at any time during your rehabilitation process.

How does in-Home Physiotherapy worK?

Physiotherapist helping patient with exercise

Once we understand what you are looking for, our team will set you up with the right physiotherapist for you and your needs.

At the initial assessment, our physiotherapist will take a detailed history and ask questions to better understand what you’re experiencing, what your current needs are, and what your goals for therapy entail.

As part of the initial assessment, the therapist will conduct tests and measures such as evaluating your: range of motion, strength, balance and any specific functional limitations. This can be done from the comfort of your living room and our therapist will bring all the tools and equipment needed. If you have a home or condo gym, we can use the gym space at any time during your rehab with us.

Once your therapist has a clear picture of what your diagnosis is and how they can get you better, they will discuss this information with you.

Along with your help and input, you and your therapist can come up with a treatment plan that best suits you!

You can also expect a detailed home exercise program that you can perform daily by yourself or that includes the help of a caregiver.

You don’t have specific exercise equipment at home? No worries….our therapists are great at helping you use items within your home to substitute for any equipment needed.

Follow-up treatments will be performed as indicated on the treatment plan that you and the therapist have collectively formulated.

We offer 30 – 60 min follow-up appointments for in-home physiotherapy. These can also be a mixture of in-home and in-clinic appointments if needed.

Our physiotherapist will perform an evaluation that includes a detailed past medical history, discuss your concerns, perform tests as well as assess your movement, balance, and strength.

Once this is complete, you and the physiotherapist will come up with a tailored plan together to help you achieve your goals.

If physio-pilates are incorporated into your treatment plan, your physiotherapist will discuss the treatment plan and goals with our pilates instructor. Based on your treatment plan and problem, our pilates instructor will perform one-on-one sessions within your home using exercises that are pilates-based and tailored toward getting you back to moving with ease and injury-free.
