What: An Interactive one-day Workshop
Where: PhysioPlus Health Group – 2489 Bloor St W. Toronto Ontario
When: May 6th, 8:30am-4:30pm
Price: $350
Course Description:
The foot plays such an important role in daily activities. From simple walking, to complex sport movement, the foot is required for balance, propulsion, shock absorption, and critical feedback to the brain for proper motor planning. Dysfunction at the foot can not only lead to local pain and pathology, but play a large contributing role to pathology through the whole lower extremity.
When it comes to treating patients, the role of the foot and ankle cannot be overlooked, however too often clinicians feel as though they don’t have the tools to properly identify and treat pathology involving the foot.
Upon completion of this course, clinicians will be able to:
- Describe the main biomechanical theories of the foot, and why they are relevant to clinical practice
- Identify the important anatomical features of the foot and understand their role in whole body movement
- Understand normal gait mechanics and identify when and how they break down
- Thoroughly assess the foot and ankle through non-weight bearing, standing and gait
- Successfully identify and treat common foot pathologies
- Identify more advanced or sinister pathologies that require external interventions
